Operation & Maintenance

Your solar system was designed to deliver savings for 25 years. Without regular maintenance, underperformance can silently erode those returns — often without any visible warning signs.

Our O&M service keeps your system performing at its peak year-round. Available for systems installed by Electrasure and third-party installers alike.

What’s included?

  • Periodic panel cleaning to maintain optimum generation output

  • Inverter health checks and performance diagnostics

  • Electrical safety testing and compliance reporting

  • Real-time performance monitoring with proactive fault detection

We maintain systems we installed and systems installed by others — so if your current installer has gone quiet, we can step in.

Why maintenance matters

A solar system that isn't regularly maintained doesn't fail suddenly — it underperforms gradually. Inverter efficiency drops. Panel output degrades. Faults go undetected. Over time, the savings your system was designed to deliver quietly shrink.

Research suggests that well-maintained commercial solar systems generate up to 5% more energy annually than unmanaged ones. Over a 25-year system lifespan, that difference compounds into a significant loss of return on your original investment.

Our O&M contracts are designed to prevent that. We carry out scheduled inspections, monitor your system's output in real time, and respond to any faults before they affect your generation. You get the savings your system promised — year after year

For Electrasure installations

Your system comes with our full ongoing support as standard. We know exactly how it was designed and installed, which means faster diagnostics and more accurate performance benchmarking.

For third-party installations

If your system was installed by another contractor, we can take over your O&M. We carry out a full system assessment first, then provide a tailored maintenance contract based on what we find.

"Since installation the system has worked flawlessly and has exceeded production estimates. One snag with connectivity was resolved without any fuss — professional throughout."

FAQs

Our O&M contracts cover the full range of maintenance activities required to keep your solar system performing at its peak. This includes periodic panel cleaning, inverter health checks and performance diagnostics, electrical safety testing, compliance reporting, and real-time performance monitoring with proactive fault detection. We tailor each contract to the specific needs of your system and site.

What does an Operation & Maintenance contract cover?

1

Do you only maintain systems you have installed?

2

No — we provide O&M services for commercial solar systems regardless of who installed them. If your original installer is no longer available, has gone out of business, or simply isn't providing the level of support you need, we can step in. We carry out a full system assessment first to understand the installation and establish a performance baseline before taking over maintenance.

How often should a commercial solar system be serviced?

3

We recommend a minimum of one full service visit per year for most commercial systems, with additional panel cleaning visits depending on the location and environment of your site. Systems in areas with higher levels of dust, pollution, or bird activity may benefit from more frequent cleaning. Real-time monitoring allows us to identify any performance issues between scheduled visits and respond proactively.

If our monitoring detects a fault or your system raises an alert, we respond promptly to diagnose and resolve the issue. For systems on our O&M contract, we provide a dedicated point of contact so you always know who to call. Our engineers are accredited and experienced across a wide range of inverter brands and system configurations, meaning most faults are diagnosed and resolved quickly.

How much difference does regular maintenance actually make?

5

Research consistently shows that well-maintained commercial solar systems generate up to 5% more energy annually than unmanaged ones. Over a 25-year system lifespan that compounds into a significant difference in total generation — and total savings. Regular maintenance also extends the life of key components, reduces the risk of costly repairs, and ensures your system remains compliant with electrical safety standards.

Can you provide generation guarantee reporting?

6

Yes — as part of our O&M service we provide generation reporting that benchmarks your system's actual output against its projected performance. This gives you clear visibility of whether your system is delivering the returns it was designed to achieve, and allows us to identify and address any underperformance quickly.

What is included in a panel cleaning visit?

7

Panel cleaning visits include a full clean of all solar panels using appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions that are safe for the panel surface and coatings. We also carry out a visual inspection of the panels, mounting structure, and cabling during each visit and report any issues identified. Clean panels can improve generation output by 3–5% compared to heavily soiled ones.

How do I get an O&M contract for my existing system?

8

Getting started is straightforward. Contact us and we'll arrange an initial system assessment at your site. We'll review your installation, check the current performance, and provide a tailored O&M proposal based on what we find. There's no obligation — if your system is already well maintained and performing correctly, we'll tell you that too.
